Using MCAT Passages for the LSAT Verbal?

by YudeS218 Sat Apr 14, 2018 9:12 am

I was wondering if anybody ever used MCAT VR to boost their LSAT Reading Comprehension score and had positive results?

I know that LSAT reading comprehension is harder than MCAT VR and the questions are a bit different, but it seems that getting "the big picture" of each passage is the same strategy for answering questions on both tests. Thus, it seems like really good practice along with the usual lsat rc prep. Just wondering if anyone had any luck?

I actually have never seen MCAT Verbal, but all the standardized test Reading Comp sections are potentially good practice fodder:
GMAT, GRE, and MCAT (I assume)

There are definitely some stylistic differences between GMAT and GRE's RC and LSAT's (those are the three tests I know better), but getting good at GMAT or GRE RC would certainly be building similar skills to what would help on LSAT.

The best form of practice is usually the real thing, though, so if you have access to older LSATs, I would prioritize using them before shifting to RC passages from other tests.

If, however, you already have access to some RC materials from GMAT, GRE, or MCAT, they would certainly have some value in terms of prepping for LSAT RC.
