Ten Lap Relay Race Game

by Kristinav10 Thu May 11, 2017 7:08 pm

On the interact video within the first session there is a basic order game titled 10 lap relay race. It is question 21 and the question asks if Ortiz swims lap 4, then which of the following could be true? The answer is Lu swims lap 3 however that answer breaks one of the rules which states K cannot go before L. My question is then how can Lu swim 3rd? That leaves spot 1 and 2 open for M and K and K cant go before L. Please help! :?:

Hey, there.

When you want to ask a question on the forum, try to get the PrepTest number / Section / Question.

Then you just look up (in this case)
Logic Games --> Test 37 ---> Game 4 --> Q21

https://www.manhattanprep.com/lsat/foru ... t7033.html

If you still have any questions at that point, add it on to that thread! :)

Ok got it! So it is Prep test 37 June 2002 Game 4 Question 21. If you place the L in spot 3 it violates the KL constraint. How then is answer Lu swims lap 3?

Soooo I went back to the problem and the rules say K cannot be directly behind L, which allows the possibility of K being sometime before L. I could be wrong about this not sure any thoughts? :?

Correct, saying "cannot be DIRECTLY behind" just means "can't be the position IMMEDIATELY before", but it could still be 2 spots, 3 spots, 4 spots before, etc.

I'm not sure you understood my original post. :)

I already knew which game / section / question it was (I wrote it in my original post).

I provided you the link to the explanation thread for that game/section/question (in my original post). Here it is again:

Click on that link, see if the conversation there already answers your question, and otherwise post any questions you still have on that thread. Thanks!
