Some questions about flaw reasoning.

by Aquamarine Wed Aug 21, 2013 9:22 am

I can't find what kinds of flaws (e.g false dilemma, cause & effect, source attack etc.) they are when I see some questions.

1) Prep2, sec.4, #11
2) Prep1, sec.3, #12
3) Prep7, sec.1, #17
4) Prep12, sec.4, #15
5) Prep2, sec.2, #5
6) Prep9, sec.4, #5 (I'm not sure whether it's mistaken cause and effect or error of conditional reasoning)

Let me know what kinds of flaws they are if you know.
Thanks!

Hey, there.

Two potential problems with your post:

1. Each question needs its own post, in the proper area. It may turn out that we already have an explanation for each of those questions. I just looked for the first one and found it here:
q11-every-week-the-programming-office-t5836.html

When you first enter the forum, click on Logical Reasoning. Then find the preptest, then find the section, then find the question number.

If there's not already a post for that question, then start a new post from within that test and that section.

If there is already a post, read it and see if your questions are answered. If they're not, add a question to that post.

2. You seem to be under the impression that Flaw questions all have "named" flaws. The VAST majority of flaw questions do not have any of the "famous" flaws you're talking about. They just have unique issues relating to the assumptions being made in the argument core. So don't think you're ever missing something if you can't label a flaw with one of these "template" names.
