Re: Q20 - The rise in the prosperity

The "ONLY WHEN" phrase in choice D really confused me. Why it indicates a correlation here, rather than a necessary condition?
Can someone please explain how to differentiate the situations that "ONLY WHEN" indicates correlation vs. necessary condition? Thanks!

Re: Q17 - Most people believe that yawning

Well, a historian of popular culture is presumably an expert when it comes to the history of popular culture. A biologist's area of expertise could be assumed to be biology. Certainly, within these academic fields, an individual's expertise might be even more narrowly drawn and distinguished from a...

Re: Q24 - Between 1951 and 1963

I think C is correct because it compared the increase rate with two other periods - the ones before and after the prohibition. If the prohibition indeed made people want and use alcohol more, then the increase rate during the prohibition should be higher (instead of as sharply as) than the time befo...

Re: Q13 - Editorial: In rejecting the plan

I think another way to rule out A is that no one says the decision the mayor made is "effective". So this answer is descriptively inaccurate.

Re: Q19

Was there a better answer? ^ That annoying mantra is extremely important to LSAT, because there are lots of blips / idiosyncrasies / holes in certain problems that can torture us, but they should only be a concern if it was impossible to figure out what the best answer was. Did any of the other ans...

Re: Q21 - Justine: Pellman, Inc. settled the lawsuit

Please correct me if my thoughts are wrong. For D, I think Justine would disagree with it, because J thought the reason to not go to the trial is to avoid losing in court. As long as this establishes, then it doesn't matter if the legal fees are cheaper or not. However, I don't think we know Simon's...

Re: Q17 - Because no other theory has been able to predict

PT69, S4, Q17 (Principle Support) This one is a real mouthful! As always, we should start by finding the conclusion. In this case, thankfully, it’s pretty easy to spot: accounting for this advance should not be counted as evidence in support of Einstein’s theory. What is that conclusion based on? W...
