Re: Q23 - Teachers are effective only when they help

Noah, thanks for the help here, but I have a question. I originally got this wrong, and I really want to understand how to get it right. I was using the PowerScore Logical Reasoning Bible method of diagramming conditional reasoning, and I am at a loss as how to diagram the second sentence using thei...

Q19 - Thomas: The club president

Can someone please explain why (A) is correct here? The other answers don't make sense, but I don't see for myself why (A) does. Thanks in advance!

Re: Q11 - Carrots are known to be one of the best...

I eliminated A because if the population has gone up, then naturally the number of people with vitamin A deficiency could also go up, just because of the sheer amount people. Even if carrots were in demand and people had access to them, if the population has gone up significantly, the carrots could ...

Re: Q21 - Traditional norms in our society

I agree with skapur. I got this right but on a somewhat lucky guess (had eliminated 3/5 answers). I would diagram the first sentence as: ~Sincerity --> IUR and TSL (~IUR or ~TSL --> Sincerity) I see how you did the rest clearly, but I am at a loss as to how you came up with your diagram for th...

Re: Q15 - Sonya: Anyone who lives without constant

The moral of the story: I am an idiot. Haha that last line made me laugh and smile. I feel the same way about a LOT of questions when I review them. It's not that I didn't understand the question, I just make stupid mistakes while rushing that just leave me bewildered upon review at how I could hav...

Re: Q4 - Among the various models of Delta

Hey there, This is my first attempt at explaining a question myself, but since I just took this PT yesterday and got this correct I figured I'd give it a shot. The conclusion is actually the first sentence - "Among the various models of Delta vacuum cleaners, one cannot accurately predict how e...

Re: Q5 - Many scientists believe that bipedal

Hello mshermn, I narrowed down to choice B and D ending up choose B out of gut feeling. I find both are flawed. I followed your explanation of D's flaw: "(D) has a similar flaw to answer choice (C). The author states that the debate continues." then I find B would also be flawed, since th...

Re: Q10

I got this question right (after narrowing it down), but I was wondering why E is the best answer? I can see the skepticism in B toward A, but I wasn't sure if it was "pointed". I immediately crossed out A & B, so I kept staring at pure neutrality and general ambivalence, but those tw...

Re: Q2 - Board member: The J Foundation

It looks like you're looking at the wrong answer key. The answer for question 2 on Section #3 of PT 55 is C. So you are okay. Maybe you were looking at the answer key for Section #1 of LR, where Question 2 had the correct answer of A? Edit: And yea, I just realized you had posted this in Section #1 ...

Re: Q9 - Physician: In comparing our country

I chose (E) because I figured the author was assuming that the mechanism to report number of prescriptions was the same in all three countries. What if the reason for fewer reports in the physician's country was due to a mediocre reporting system when compared with the other two countries? I though...

Re: Q25 - I recommend that our company

I also had it down to B and E but ultimately chose E. As others have said, familiarity is not brought up in the stimulus. In addition, B mentions "flexibility or INITIAL ease of use" whereas the stimulus says "more flexible and easier to use." Maybe I'm being nitpicky, but initia...

Re: Q14

If you'll notice, the passage starts with "Proponents of the tangible-object theory of copyright argue that..." The rest of the first paragraph and all of the second falls under what the proponents of this theory say. The author lays out their theory and what they view as an advantage in t...

Re: Q14

Why on earth is (D) wrong... the last paragraph is totally the author's point in that he/she has a problem with this tangible object theory. Is it just that tiny last part that makes it wrong? The part about "ideas should be allowed to circulate freely"?? Since there is no mention of that...

Re: Q19 - If understanding a word always involves

Wow, this is a very dense and convoluted problem at first glance (especially on a timed PT toward the end of your third straight section). However, after spending some time with it, it is NOT that bad. Here's my thoughts. The stimulus tells us that if understanding a word involves knowing its dictio...

Re: Q6 - ; After an oil spill...

This was a strange question because you rarely see answer choices all in the form of questions. The numbers in the stimulus are also a little daunting to take and it's easy to get sidetracked and confused. I'll do my best to explain it. So after a recent oil spill, rehabilitation centers were set up...

I chose C for this one. The stimulus tells us that "many underground musicians consider it desirable for a recording not to sell well." C tells us that even if an underground group's recordings meet criteria that many underground musicians consider desirable (not selling well), that's not ...
