A causes B. B causes C. Does A cause C?

This is a concept I saw addressed on a question the other day, but I cannot locate it.

I have never thought about this, but I am interested in the technical answer. I would believe that we could say that A causes C since it leads to C. And since it leads to it, that is a form of cause.

Re: Q19 - Light is registered in the

This is definitely one of the hardest LR questions i have encountered on my PT's I am having a hard time understanding why B is the correct answer. I do not see where the premises favors warm temperature being more error-prone. There does not even seem to be a mention of the warmth, or lack there o...

This can be used as a global diagram for this game. This game is a one-to-one correspondence in terms of numerical distribution. Each slot will be used by one of the investors and all 7 investors will be used. http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/h413/secretad/4761387f.jpg The checkma...

Re: Q10

I will post up what a global diagram can look like for this game. This will help us answer this global question of what must be true. http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/h413/secretad/b199002c.jpg This diagram may be sufficient for many test takers. However, this game is predicated o...

Re: PT47 S3 Q8 There is ample evidence that the model of car

(A) introduces another possible "cause." Maybe. (B) there can be other affects, no problem. Eliminate! Hope that helps... But isn't B another possible cause? I saw both of these options as other causes the author did not consider. Perhaps it was not the model of car that caused it to be t...

Q22 - If one does not have enough information

Principle question that wants us to find an answer choice that conforms to the stimulus. Stimulus: Lack of information to make W-I decision ---> should not make a decision on that possessed information. Rather, should continue to find information until a W-I decision can be made. I felt that this...

Q14 - Overexposure to certain wavelengths

I would like to express my thought process on this question and have feedback or suggestions for improvement. It was down to (A) and (D) for me. The stimulus gives a cause and effect. Overexposure to certain wavelengths of strong sunlight causes melanoma. The conclusion (recommendation in this case)...

Re: Q19 - : Although high cholesterol levels...

I wanted to share my thoughts on this one. The stimulus starts out with a correlation of high cholesterol levels and the development of heart disease. Then says some people with high cholesterol never develop heart disease, and some develop heart disease without high cholesterol. What a cut and dry ...

Re: Q8 - Fortune-teller: Admittedly, the claims...

I would like to bump this for clarification on the above post. It is obvious that the flaw is the invalid claim of "lack of evidence = truth of opposite" but what about choice (B)? The teller does not explicitly say that it is the only relevant factor, but by the structure of the argument,...

Re: Examples of Positive Correlation and Negative Correlation?

Thanks for that! In a positive correlation, you stated as an example: As one gets older, one gets wiser. As X increase, Y increases. This is a positive correlation. Does a positive correlation include as Y increases, X increases...aka the reverse? If it does not include that, what would you call tha...

Examples of Positive Correlation and Negative Correlation?

This question I have stems from the PT 50 S4 Q19 about recent studies and smokers.

What would be an example of a positive correlation?

Negative correlation?

Re: Q6 - The notion that one might

This is a parallel question. The stimulus gives us a core that looks like this: Conclusion: You can't be justified in behaving irrationally. Evidence for this conclusion: If action is justified ---> Then behaving rationally If behaving irrationally ---> then it is unjustified. Answer choice B:...

As you move through the game you will find that H's are either going to be forced going days 2, 4, and 6, or going 3, 5, and 7. Why could the scenarios for the H distribution not be: 2-4-6 2-4-7 2-5-7 3-5-7 Or are you saying that those distributions exist, but that the game's questions put you in b...

Re: Q23

On this exact question, I would be hesitant to select (A) straight up without looking at the other four choices. These other four choices, as you suggested, are simply absolute no-go's.

Re: Diagram

It can still be true that another archaeologist discovers a 10th century site. Do not reverse the logic. If G ---> 10th 10th ---> ? It could be G, but does not have to be. However, if at any point in the game, you have only one tenth century site, it must be Gallagher's as every person must di...

Re: Q71 - When several of a dermatologist's patients complained

This title can be renamed or edited to read "Q13 - When several of a dermatologist's patients..." You can treat the stimulus in this question as an argument. The author goes from a correlation to causation, which is most definitely flawed reasoning. The word cause on the LSAT should put yo...

Re: Q23 - The higher the altitude

You are absolutely correct with your line of thinking. If answer choice A were to have said, "The older one is, the wiser one is. Henrietta older than daughter, therefore Henrietta wiser than daughter." then it would have been a correct answer. Answer choice A brings that relative comparis...
