Q25

I am down to choice (B) and (C).
I understand why (B) is correct, but can anyone help me eliminate (C)?
According to line 34-36, many allottees would "sell their lands back to the tribe", does it imply that originally their lands were bought from their tribes?

Re: Q9 - Paleontologists have discovered fossils of

I am still confused why (D) is better than (C). Could someone explain it? I interpret (C) as a choice that undermines(hence "least support") the paleontologist's view, since the "rock...occasionally covered by river water", thus more likely containing water-dwelling animals? Than...

Q22 - Economists: Some people argue

I did not see how choice (C) makes the conclusion more properly drawn.

Can anyone explain to me?

I chose (E).

Thank you in advance!!

Re: Q22 - Biologist: Some speculate that

I think the reason you consider right answer as opposite of D is that D says "increasing" while the corresponding word in the last sentence is "reduce". In order to understand why this change is legitimate, you need to read and understand the second-to-last sentence in the questi...

Q19 - When a strone is trimmed

I can eliminate everything else to get B, but I don't see why it is correct.

I feel I don't really understand the question stem, how did the year 1492 suddenly appear in the conclusion?

Thanks a lot!

Thanks a lot for the explanation and advice!

It does look much clearer when you can see things in A, B, C...

Q13 - A recent study concludes that

I identify the dispute as the inconsistency between growth rings that can only be found in cold blooded animals and the dense blood vessels that indicate, however, that they are warm blooded. I don't see how E can resolve it. By whatever means the animals abtain dense blood vessels (by having a part...

Re: Q12 - Yang: Yeast has long been

I think the presumption is that the leaven in use 1200 B.C. was yeast.

Re: Q14 - , The authorship of the Iliad and...

I chose C because I assumed the "hypothesis" to denote the tradition. If the tradition is not firmly established, why can we call it a hypothesis? I feel I still can't talk myself out of C. Any thought? The only issue I found in C was "believe", which not necessarily equates &quo...

Re: PT42, S4, P7 - Two different dates have

I still have trouble grasping E. However, if I read the "faster" in E as "earlier", it would totally make sense, but I don't quite get your "rate" interpretation. Does the rate warm beetles replaced cold beetles have to be faster than the rate spruce forest replaced ice...

Re: Q25 - . The first bicycle,..

I found the exact flaw, but chose the same wrong answer B. Now that I think of it, the reason I did it wrong was that I failed to recognize the following are equivalent: 1. disappearance of bicycles 2. NOT accepting the technology 3. failure of bicycles (in E) I had in mind something related to nece...

Re: Q5

I like E better than A as well, because of line 18-20.

However, it only implies they are not "key figures" in civil rights movement. In other words, they could have been just "involved", as phrased in choice E.
