PT 57, S1, Q14, Which one of the following is a pair of toys

Is there a faster way to figure out the right answer rather than creating a hypothetical for each one?

The answer was (A) which makes this quick and easy, but I was wondering if they put it on the bottom like at (E), it seems like it would take a good amount of time to sludge through.

When is a necessary assumption of an argument...

When is a necessary assumption of an argument a sufficient necessary statement? I imagine if the argument was... Premise 1: A Conclusion: B Then, the necessary assumption would have to be... If A then B. Well, I was wondering in what other cases that people have encountered or ones that you can just...

Re: PT57, S2, Q25 The law of the city of Weston

Can one of the Manhattan LSAT staff please humor me... I still don't see why "THE law..." makes the statement "No contributions to Brimley's campaign needed to be registered with the city council" must be true. What if it were the case that: There is a LOS ANGELES city law that s...

Re: PT 57 Q 24 S 2 Sometimes one reads a poem...

For these question types, do you need to assume that every premise that the person who is making the argument uses actually in fact does support his argument in some way? Cause if you take only the conclusion and one of the premises: Premise 1: One who is writing a great poem does NOT intend to comm...

Q21 - Editorial: It is a travesty

Do you find it more efficient to first figure out what role the highlighted sentence plays in the argument before you go to the answer choice? Then quickly go through the answer choices to search for it? Or... go through the answer choices and eliminate. Cause in this case, I was thinking, "it'...

Re: PT 57, S2, Q20 - In the past, when there was no highway

If B instead said "Ten years ago, at least 95 percent of all automobile accidents in the area occurred on highways with a speed limit of 55 mph or lower" and there was no answer choice (D), could (B) then have been the credited response? Yes, here would still have the cause, but not the e...

Re: PT59, S2, Q17 - Teachers should not do anything to cause

Thanks so much for your help! I followed your reasoning up to this point... That's why (E) is correct. If students lose respect whenever they sense teachers hiding their ignorance, and we know teachers shouldn't allow students to lose respect for them, then it definitely follows that teachers should...

Re: PT59, S2, Q21 - Essayist: when the first prehistoric

An additional follow up question. (E) is incorrect because we don't care whether "some" species of animals (how many? two? three?) became extinct later. We want to explain why the ones in the argument became extinct. Are we looking to explain why the ones in the argument became extinct... ...

Re: PT59, S2, Q21 - Essayist: when the first prehistoric

Thanks so much for the help. I really appreciate it. I have a couple of follow up questions though. (C) weakens the argument by undermining that last judgment. If very few animals that were not hunted became extinct, then it seems likely that hunting, rather than disease, was the cause of the extinc...

PT 57, S1, Q12, Which one of the following could be the toys

How did you eliminate (C)? I can see why (B) is correct after understanding that P and I would for L & U into being mauve, but that took me awhile to figure out.

Is there a line a reasoning that one can use through the rules to rule (C) out quickly?

Q21 - Essayist: when the first prehistoric

Is answer choice (C) correct because in some cases there was there was no cause - (not exposed to microogranisms) but the effect occurred - (extinction in these few species)? If I'm totally off, what's your line of reasoning? Also, why is answer choice (D) not the correct answer? Is it because one d...

Re: PT 57, S1, Game 3 - The evil dinosaur game...

I know this game has already been explained, but I thought since I recently worked it up that I would post the setup and two possible frames along with an explanation to what I think may be the trickiest question - #16. PT57, S1, G3_AtlasLSAT.pdf This game is very similar to the fourth game from Fe...

Re: PT 57 S1 G2

Sorry! I was referring to Question 6, but I figured out that I mistakenly read D as Otto: Thursday, Saturday, not Wednesday, Saturday! Argh! Even if you read Otto as Thursday, Saturday instead of Wednesday, Saturday... ...they both have the same error which would enable you to eliminate this answer...

Re: Diagram

Questions 2,3, and 4 might be easier if you think of this linear game as ordering "blocks." So you have a K individual block, HG block, JM block (this block is different from the HG block in that it can be rotated to become a MJ block), and a L block. First we have to recognize that the to...

Q12 - Sahira: To make a living

Can someone explain why Sahira's assumption is implicit and not explicit?

I feel that Sahira explicitly states that to gain widespread popular acclaim, artists must produce something other than their best work.

Thanks :)

Re: Q14

I understand how Q-Flyhigh-Domestic needs to be in the last spot and hence there can only be 4 possible planes that could depart in the 2nd spot. But that doesn't mean that the other plans can in fact be in the 2nd spot without violating any rules. So is there an efficient way to check that S, T, P,...

Q17 - Teachers should not do anything

Can someone please explain through step by step, their line of reasoning why (E) is the correct answer? I got the question right, through "intuition" because it sounds right in my head, but for some reason I can't diagram it logically why it is the case. Or should I not be thinking of this...
