Q4 - Scientist: In testing whether a baby's babbling

I was torn between B and E, and chose B because I considered an established finding to be a generally accepted principle. The recent study seemed to offer a new principle. I did not compare B and E to each other, but tried to apply the elements of the answer choices to the passage. I appreciate guid...

Q11 - Police chief: During my tenure

I eliminated the correct answer D because it seemed to be irrelevant to the reduction in crime. Is crime as a whole reduced, how do we know that the city's own efforts didn't contribute the the decrease? I think the right answer would have been stronger if it mentioned how the country as a whole ado...

Thank you! This explanation is very helpful. I have a shift in how I approach descriptive questions now.

Number distributions, closed conditional grouping game

Hello, I just worked through Practice game 2, chapter 10: conditional grouping of the LG book and having trouble understanding the numerical distribution of the 3 subgroups. From a glance, I thought subgroup 70s: 3 and subgroup 60: 0 and 80:2. The elements in the 70s subgroup aren't attached to anyt...

Re: Q18 - Sleep deprivation/Illness

Why is B incorrect? Is it partially true in capturing the 8 hour sleep effect?

Q10 - In 2005, paleontologist

Hello, I narrowed the choices down to c and e
Can you help me understand why e would be wrong if it could possibly strengthen the finding.
Thank you! :D

Except

When approaching these questions I look for an answer choice that cannot be true:

Could be true except
Could be false except

Would a Must be True answer choice ever be a correct one?

Conditional rules

From a drill in the LG book,

L can be assigned only to units with either Q or R

Does this mean that both can happen if L is there?

Is L conditional because "can" is used?

Thank you!

Q10 - Columnist: Some people argue that

:| At first I thought this was an inference question but the word reject confused me

So am I looking for an answer choice that will go against what the passage is saying?

What other variations of this question type might I see in similar questions ?

Thanks!

Re: Q6 - University administrator: Any proposal

Are inference questions always a conclusion that can be supported by the passage? Or any informaiton that can be supported by the passage whether that be a premise, background, opinion/view?

Thanks
