I was able to narrow this one down to C and D. I'm not sure why C is incorrect. The only thing I could come up with is that C says "cases," while the passage really only discusses plankton, which would be one case...?

Aren't both D and E necessary assumptions for the argument to hold true? If D were false, and regular people could develop gum disease, then periodontitis would not be elimited. The only way I see that D could be wrong is if you claim that the enzyme automatically prevetns gum disease, in which case...

Not that it makes a difference, but your setup says "At Least One In Common," but it's actually "Exactly one in Common."
