Re: Q22 - Trainer: Research shows that

What a tough question! Who knew there was such a thing as "early puppyhood" and "middle puppyhood." In my mind these stages all existed in a simple, single stage known as "puppy stage." I picked E, but let me see and strongly considered D, but let me see if I can work o...

Re: Q18 - Coach: Our team has often

This is not what I got out of the question. The flaw according to PowerScore's 18 flaws, is the StrawMan flaw, where the person assumes or exaggerates the persons claim to mean something that it isn't and than concludes that the person is wrong by showing how the mislead interpretation is wrong. Wh...

What does a "net increase" in spending really mean? Isn't it basically just a fancy way of saying that they taxpayers will spend more money than they did before?

Re: Q23 - Candidate: The government spends

I think you are definitely right here: the error is the assumption that more resources = improvement. However, I still have trouble working D out. But I think I understand your explanation. D makes a bigger leap from the premise to the conclusion then B or the stimulus does. For example, in D, they ...

Re: PT59, S2, Q21 - Essayist: when the first prehistoric

Hey giladedelman, I am under the impression that C doesn't really attack the "hunting caused extinction implausible premise," or that we could still take these premises to be true but the conclusion still doesn't follow and C still weakens. The premise is that it is implausible that huntin...

Re: Q2 - Since there is no survival value

Hello maryadkins, can you please tell me how you arrived at the conclusion that "X has no overall benefit, therefore, not efficient to have X" is the principle of the passage? And could you please tell me how you approach these kind of questions in general, a.k.a, how do you figure out wha...

Can anyone please tell me a strategy for how to attack these "Complete the argument" questions? They are kind of hard because I don't really know how to approach them....

These sneaky questions always get me towards the end of the test, especially because I read more quickly and so don't get all the details or the entire picture. But yeah, I think you are totally right. I picked C too, but now that I look back at the passage, I realize that nowhere does it say that t...

Re: Q17 - Studies of the relibiality

Hello! First post here... What I don't get is how (A) is a "principle' supporting the advice. I guess I'm used to more direct answers in principle questions in which the principle clearly justifies the reasoning used in the premise. I am also used to principles sounding like general rules by wh...

Re: Q7 - Increases in the occurence of

What a sneaky little question, playing on my assumptions so well :x I got this question wrong, but let me see if I can work it out. The intro in this passage really sets you up on this one, trying to trick you into making the same assumption the author makes. It talks about how increases in hearing ...

Re: PT 30, S2, Q21 - The new agrilcultural bill will

That is exactly why answer choice (E) can be eliminated. You cannot take the contrapositive of a "some" statement nor a "most" statement. Frustrating I know, because so many of the answer choices are very close, but it's really important that we do not commit reversals, negation...

Re: Q4

Here are my thoughts: A: One thing I noticed was wrong about this answer is that it states that a proposal of refinements in a policy is made in the later paragraph. But that does not happen. The author does not suggest or lay out a way to improve the CAW plan. He simply states the negatives of the ...

Re: Q6

I got this question wrong. But let me see if I can work it out. Basically, along with the time crunch, I misread parts of the first paragraph, which lead me to choose D over A (which are kind of the opposite of each other). In the first paragraph it talks about how plan members have the option of us...

Re: Q21 - Advertiser: Most TV shows depend

Okay, this question has really had me stumped. I have read everyone's posts a dozen times. I am confused with how to "bridge the gap". It seems that answer B really supports the premise in the argument rather than the conclusion. Is that why B is correct? The question asks us about the &q...

Is there a list somewhere out there of all the common errors found in matching error of reasoning questions? Re: Q20 - Dana: It is wrong to think

So, logically speaking, "not always" can equal "never" on the LSAT? Because if so I can see why B makes sense for Pat.
