The real problem with (D) is its 2nd component. The 2nd paragraph isn't saying that we can finally distinguish parasitic from symbiotic fungi; it's saying that we can finally distinguish the fungal DNA from the algae's DNA. So in the stimulus it's (all) wealth is often... they are describing a characteristic of all wealth. Whereas in choice D (which I chose) it is MOST dachshunds hunt poorly, which means they are describing a characteristic of a majority, but not all dachshunds. In which case we the conclusion does not...

but wouldn't answer choice C have some validity because in the passage, lines 23-25 seem to indicate that they do have reproductive synchrony. I would not combine the trees in this game. I think the combined trees does not lead to anything useful. Either the P is after those 2 or before.
