As someone who had to make a decision between B and D relatively quickly (because like always, time is an issue :), I found it helpful to try and think of a situation that would disprove B and D. It was easier to disprove B (I imagined a situation where airplanes only land 29 minutes out of the hour...

Not sure this will help, but for me personally, what stood out in the prompt were the words "seem to correspond." The prompt used this language, which to me screamed correlation, to argue for something that seemed to assume some sort of causation. B fills this gap in the argument.
