Re: Q17 - Wild cheetahs live in the African

Here is why "A" is incorrect: "A" states that "Previous estimates of the size of the existing wild cheetah population were inaccurate." Here's why I thought it was previously correct: Passage states that "Previous estimates of the size that the wild cheetah populat...

Re: Q20 - It would be wrong to conclude

@anjelica.grace Very interesting point. "Is there an implied necessity assigned to bacilli?" Yes. To get strep throat, you need strep bacilli and a run down host. Both are necessary. "It would be wrong to conclude that a person has Strep infection if there is evidence to the fact that...

Re: Q21 - Some people have been promoting

"finding a claim to be false on the grounds that it would if true have consequences that are false" This is misleading because it can be interpreted that the consequences would be false if the claim about the herbs were true. "finding a claim to be false on the grounds that it would i...

Re: Q26 - Editorialsit: Additional restrictions should

Conclusion: Additional restrictions should be placed on driver's licenses of teenagers Premise/Sub-Conclusion: ...teenagers lack basic driving skills. Premise: they are responsible for over 14 percent of traffic fatalities. The reason we have a sub-conclusion is because the last sentence supports th...

Re: Q22 - The justification Helen offers

How do you know that Helen is not the smartest person in the world and a trained philosopher? Helen could be a Supreme Court Justice for all we know. But we don't. You can't assume that. All we know is that her name is Helen. Maybe she had a sex-change and he used to be called Bob. You don't know. I...

Re: Q6 - Dietitian: High consumption of sodium

What if fresh fruit and vegetables has a higher proportion of sodium/potassium? Who cares that fresh fruit has more potassium than canned fruit? Example: Fresh fruit= 1000g sodium, 15g potassium Canned fruit=10g sodium, 10g potassium This shows that the answer choice is not a necessary assumption an...

Re: Q25 - Chef: This mussel recipe's first

B is wrong because it doesn't follow that cornmeal can clean out anything besides sand. If it read, "Mussels contain no contaminants other than sand that the cornmeal is intended to clean out ." I believe it would be correct. It's kind of a scope shift: cleaning out sand and contaminants. ...

Re: Q4 - For generations, magnificent racehorses

I assumed that "A" was wrong because if we build the racetrack then the character that is supposed to be developed in children won't happen. The passage says that children who get something for nothing won't develop good character. Therefore, in answer choice "A" the hypothetical...

Re: Q7 - Legislator: To keep our food safe,

@Timmydoeslsat-Thank you for all of you posts on this site. Your wisdom has been a tremendous stress reliever.

Are you saying that "A" is not a weakener because the argument would allow the manufacturers to add an amount below that of children in addition to adults?

Re: Q13 - Columnist: Tagowa's testimony in the

I understand why A is the answer. Why not E? The passage says that not all of the jury believed Tagowa's testimony; not that they disagreed whether it was important or not. The jury may have all believed the testimony but disagreed whether it was important to the case. So the conclusion that not all...

Re: Q2

I eliminated E for the above reason and because he doesn't utilize an omniscient voice to tell the story; he uses the voice to summarize the story at the end.

Lines 53-55 - "...for example in the adoption of an omniscient, summarizing voice at the end of his narratives..."
