Re: How to Determine the main conclusion in an argument?

Hi, so I've found that what really works for me is this: when Im reading a stimulus and I feel like there are two conclusions, I use the "therefore" test, as explained in the book, I think chapter 2. In other words, if there are two sentences that both sound conclusion-ish, say sentence A ...

Mastering the "if substituted for the condition that..."

Hi, I keep hitting these at the end of certain games, usually the last question, and usually after im super pumped from blazing through the game correctly. When I run into these they destroy me in terms of my timing. I don't know how to attack them correctly. How are others tackling these question t...

Re: Need Help with Tackling Science Passages!

i feel like an issue id have with that method is, for example, when facing questions that require us to know what the overall passage is saying, its main point etc, you'd have to leave those questions till the very end (that way you have read all the paragraphs by then), which would work, but i thin...

Re: Diagramming "Or" Constraints using the Tree Method

Hey, so what I usually do is right away when I notice the game is relative ordering (usually done by quickly glancing at the rules), I immediately begin the tree. Sometimes the tree isnt smooth, like in one of the games I did in PT 56 today. "Or" constraints, to me, are considered not smoo...

Re: Diagramming "Or" Constraints using the Tree Method

How are "or" clauses diagrammed using the tree method for relative ordering games? For example, what would the tree look like for the following scenario: C is taller than D. E is shorter than D. C is shorter than A or B.* F is taller than E. It’s the third rule that concerns me. If the "or" was r...

Re: Q22

no more than 3 subzones can be designated for each type, so there can only be a maximum of 3R. Thus we eliminate (D).

Q21

I cannot find where to post the "subject" for new topic! Quick question, how is the answer B and not D? If, J is in 3 then J is also in 8, but this violates constraint 4... Am I missing something? my setup is like this: _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 1 6 2 7 3 8 4 9 5 10 I put O is 4 and O in 9, so t...

Re: Q2 - Florist: Some people like to have green carnations

Another tool to assist you is applying the "therefore test." If you are stuck between (A) and (D), applying this test allows you to immediately eliminate (D), choose (A), and move on.

Re: Q11

Just wanted to leave everyone a quick tip that worked well for me here. With this game I decided to, after trying each six character scenario that works, for the various questions, just stack them one on top of each other instead of erasing after each question. By the time I reached this last questi...
