Re: Q7

Yes, I think that's one viable reason. Another reason why B is wrong is because the author sort of suggests that the social vision is indeed relevant to critics because, "...critics often balk at this vision because Mphahlele provides no road maps for bringing such a future about" (38-40)....

Re: Q23 - Ethicist: Marital vows often contain

Love referring to a feeling = a certain construal = C
Promise makes sense = PMS

If construed as such (C), then -PMS.

Contrapositive: PMS --> -C

Apply should to both sides:

SHOULD PMS --> SHOULD -C (this is the conclusion)

SHOULD PMS is (D).

Re: Diagram

im always torn as to when to put up frames and when just to brute-force it in this case, when i first did it brute force, it could be done under 5 minutes but in my second attempt some days later, i decided to frame it and ended up spending just under 8 minutes 4 frames is kind of costly for only 5 ...

Re: Diagram

I think this problem is best tackled without a 5 x 4 fill-in table. If we were assigning buildings to food trucks, or genres of music to different CDs, that is, one type of thing to another type of thing, I would use this kind of setup. But the reflexive nature of this problem means I can write up a...

Re: Q23 - A recently passed law limits freedom of speech

If you view this editorial as being published in the US, it makes a lot of sense and it's easy to assume the ignorance of legislators. However, if you pretend to view this editorial as one from an underground Russian newspaper, the assumption of ignorance on the part of lawmakers really stands out. ...

Re: Q25 - Therapist: In a recent study

it doesn't account for the fact that some may suffer from more than one problem, and it isn't necessary to do the key in this problem is recognizing that the 60 different psych problems each has a particular prevalence rate if the 75% consisted of problems that were not prevalent, while the remainin...

Re: Q11 - Geneticist: Billions of dollars

(C) vs. (D) (D) borrows language directly from the passage (C) takes the passage's stated actions one step further, a step that is assumed, but not explicitly stated e.g., "natural ways to make edible plants more nutritious" became "help prevent malnutrition" e.g., "particul...

Re: Diagram

I like the thorough treatment of problem #9

However, given time constraints, I would just brute force it

If you can just immediately come up with any viable solution instead of systematically doing frames and trying to figure out R's placement, you can just observe what straddles OS and move on

Re: Diagram

(11) You're trying to replace a rule dealing with R, in particular, a rule that says that R must be at least 2 spaces away from R so in your mind think, R _ _ R _ _ P, or R _ _ _ R _ P, or R _ _ _ _ R P well, another way of saying R's have to be at least two apart is R's have to be no more than two ...

Re: Diagram

i would draw out all three frames -- and BOOYAH -- you are done

Frame 1:

K, M, S+U are floaters

QP / 1
T / 2

Frame 2:

QP / 1
SU / 2
KMT / 3

Frame 3:

T(M or K) / 1
SU / 2
PQ(K or M) / 3

Re: Diagram

sorry, forgot to mention that the way you come up with the 3 frames is that either P or T in Zone 1 (not both) either T or U in Zone 2 (not both) so frame 1 is P/1 and T/2, frame 2 is P/1 and U/2, and frame 3 is T/1 and U/2 this sets up 3 frames instead of 4 since T is repeated in both rules thanks,...

Re: Q24 - Over 40,000 lead seals from

document opened --> served its purpose --> lead seal recast

therefore, if most lead seals were attached to docs that were opened, then most seals were recast

when a seal is recast, it can seal more docs

thus, # docs >> # of seals
