The answer is M --> K

I thought this answer looked like the conditional statement not the inference.

The statement could be diagrammed as:

M ---> K and ~J

The contrapositive of that would be:

~K or J ---> ~M

We would need more information to make inferences based off of this conditional statement.

If you know that "If M is picked, K will be picked but J will not."

You definitely know that If M, then K, so we can say that M --> K. There are other, more complete ways to notate the statement, as discussed above, but we can infer M --> K.
