The problem you are having may be reading the diagram. S is before L and V, but we have no inference regarding S and Z. All we know about Z is that it is before O.
Question 7 is a local question asking what must be true if V is 5th. Well we know that O is last. This will now make Z a floater amongst slots 1-4, as wherever we place Z, it will be prior to O. We have to maintain the order sequence of M-S-L. So that is what we know. What must be true is that O is sixth (E).
