Q5

by westwing.bound Wed Jul 11, 2012 9:15 pm

I am having trouble understanding where to go with this one. once I insert N I get a little lost. I understand that 2 geo's and 2 radio's must go in and 2 exp's and 2 inexp's go in but which ones must be selected. I tried answer C which states that L must be selected because rule 3 say P or L or both must be selected.

What am I not visualizing?

Yeah, this is definitely the toughest question from this game.

As you said we need 2 radio / 2 geo, and we need 2 exp / 2 inexp.

Exp: FJKL
Inexp: mnpt (I'm writing them lowercase to distinguish them)

Geo: Fmpt
Radio: JKLn

One way to potentially organize your thoughts in this game would be to think:
Geo: __ __
Radio: __ __

and also to think, "each time, I need 2 uppercase and 2 lowercase"

So, for #5, we have:
Geo: __ __
Radio: __ _n_

So we still need 1 more Radio, 2 more Geo's. And we need 1 more lowercase and 2 uppercase.

Who are the options for the other Radio.?
J,K,L (all of them are experienced, i.e. uppercase)

Geo: __ __
Radio: J/K/L _n_

That means, whether it's J, K, or L, I'm going to get 1 of my uppercase letters as a Radio.

So we'll need 1 uppercase Geo and 1 lowercase Geo.

Who are the lowercase Geo's? m, p, and t.
We might think we need 'p' due to rule 3, but we might get 'L' as a Radio., so we don't necessarily need 'p'.

Who are the uppercase Geo's? Just F. Hence, we must have F.

Hope this helps.
