This is an UNCONDITIONAL question, meaning it asks about all possible scenarios of the game. It’s a MUST BE TRUE, so the correct answer is required. The four incorrect answers all COULD BE FALSE, meaning that they’re optional, not required.

The key skill in dealing with a MUST BE TRUE question is to remember this:
- do NOT test whether an answer choice is possible! (that only tells you if it COULD be true).
- see if an ALTERNATIVE to an answer choice is possible! (if you can contradict the answer choice, you can eliminate it. if you CAN’T come up with an alternative to the answer choice, then it is correct)

If you go back to the diagram thread and read through the discussion of framing the K/L _ L/K chunk (it has to either go in spots 2 and 4, or it has to go in spots 4 and 6), then you can see how we might get (B) as our correct answer simply by looking at our diagram.

We’ll always have K or L in spot 4.

But I’ll break down the four wrong answer choices by giving you an ALTERNATIVE possibility that proves each incorrect answer choice doesn’t HAVE to be true.

(A) M N P K O L
this honors all the rules. Since N can be 2, (A) is incorrect to think that K or L must be 2.

(C) M K P L N O
this honors all the rules. Since K can be 2, (B) is incorrect to think that M or N must be 2.

(D) same scenario we used in (A). M N P K O L
this honors all the rules. Since O can be 5, (D) is incorrect to think that M or N must be 5.

(E) same scenario again. M N P K O L
this honors all the rules. Since L can be 6, (E) is incorrect to think that M or O must be 6.

Hope this helps.
