Not really. For the most part, think of "fully determined" questions as a plug-n-chug endeavor.
It's easy to have 20/20 hindsight with these and think the right answer "should've been more obvious". But many of teachers do not try to be clever. We just get to work.
The attempt at cleverness would be
1. Think about floaters ... or about reversible chunks ... find answers that hem them in
our enemy is indeterminacy, so we need to pin down our looser elements
2. Prioritize answers that obviously, immediately trigger something
For this game, with these rules,
J - H
(GL) - K
J/L _ L/J
We'd prioritize answers about F, our floater
or answers about L, who is involved in two reversible rules.
