(B) This is a tricky answer because Rewald and Robert L. Herbert sound similar. However, being biased in favor of certain "Impressionistic" painters (go back to the passage if you don't know why I put this in quotes ) is more an attribute of Herbert.
(C) Yea! Very close to what is said in 4-5: "emphasizes...stylistic innovations..."
(D) This, again, is slightly more alongside Herbert's views.
(E) Tricky! This was mentioned directly in the passage right after line 4-5. I actually picked this initially when I was working from (E) to (A) (I do this sometimes to spice the LSAT up...I don't know why) but this is wrong. Rewald's views came before the ideological debates and we have no idea if Rewald refused to enter those debates later on or not.
