How do we know the author is satisfied?
I think his attitude toward the inquisitorial system is mentioned in the 4th paragraph, but not sure whether he is satisfied or not...
Seems he is neutral? :|

Thank you

Hey Tz,

Hmm. Not sure where you're getting neutral here. This is the LSAT equivalent of a slam-dunk, though the concepts are complex enough that it may be tough to see:

"Because of the inquisitorial system's thoroughness in conducting its pretrial investigation, it can be concluded that a defendant who is innocent would prefer to be tried under the inquisitorial system, where as a defendant who is guilty would prefer to be tried under the adversarial system."

Why would an innocent person prefer any given system? Because that system was better at revealing the truth. Why would a guilty person prefer a system? Because that system was worse at revealing the truth.

Thus it must be that the inquisitorial system is good at revealing the truth.

Hope that helps!
