This question type (what can we tack onto the end of the passage?) is tricky. Your task here is to find a good concluding sentence: one that links to the final paragraph, but also to the passage’s overarching themes. The correct answer often alludes to information from way earlier in the passage.
TZ, you identified great support for (A). The author argues that monopolies can hurt consumers (lines 28-30) or help consumers (lines 41-43). The final paragraph discusses why antitrust laws only focus on those monopolies that hurt consumers, so it makes sense to tack this sentence onto that paragraph.
In terms of the other answer choices:
(B) is unsupported. The author doesn’t argue that current antitrust laws need replacing.
(C) is out of scope. Effectiveness? Communications and computer systems industries?
(D) is contradicted. The author states that antitrust laws DON’T target suprcompetitive prices specifically, since supracompetitive prices aren’t necessarily a violation of consumer welfare (lines 31-33). Additionally, supracompetitive prices are mostly discussed in the third paragraph, so it wouldn’t make sense to discuss them again at the end of the fifth paragraph.
(E) is contradicted. The author describes how antitrust laws (not "the market") curb monopolies.
Hope that helps!
