Chose D instead of C. Didn't realize that serving as research associate counted as work exp. Later realized that C was talking about business not one of the 3 required fields. Am I missing anything?

Answer choice C, as you correctly realized after, is about business which we know right off the bat isn't one of the relevant fields. We can circle C right away and move on. D on the other hand is incorrect because he has 6 years work experience (being a research associate does qualify as work experience) so we can cross this one off on the grounds that it meets the stated requirements by the manager.

1. Work experience
2. A doctorate
or
3. Published research

But take note! The relevant fields are sociology, psychology, and education.

The candidate in (C) has experience in the wrong fields: business and creative writing. He therefore doesn’t meet any of the three criteria.

(A) discusses someone with work experience in education.
(B) discusses someone with research experience in psychology.
(D) discusses someone with work experience AND research experience in education.
(E) discusses someone with a doctorate and published research in sociology.

Hi Rina,

I just wanted to clarify something about your explanation for this question. If I'm not mistaken I think the criteria to be considered for the position are:

1. Doctorate + Track Record of Published Research

OR

2. 5 years work experience

So you could have a doctorate without a track record of published research and not be considered for the position.

I think you have criteria 1. and 3. reversed!
