Q19

by LSAT-Chang Sun Sep 18, 2011 3:12 pm

I chose (D) for this because I thought we are given evidence in lines 15-20, particularly the sentence "the cakewalk added certain elements from European dances...the cakewalk developed into a high-kicking walk performed by a procession of couples." Is it the part about 19th century that is wrong?

I see support for the correct answer choice (A) in lines 12-14: "it retained features characteristic of African dance forms, such as gliding steps and an emphasis on improvisation", but could someone help answer my question as to why (D) is wrong?

D says what features were added by stage parodies. We are not told of what those particular people added.
