The "first off" question gets its own thread. For each game, we have a DIAGRAM thread to discuss the setup / inferences.
For this game it's here:
https://www.manhattanprep.com/lsat/foru ... t6866.htmlFor this question, in realtime, I would have skipped it and done all the "If" questions first, because this game was too weird for me to feel like I had any idea what I was doing initially.
By doing "if" questions first, you're forced to write out some possible scenarios and you start to get a better feel for the game (and sometimes your previous work allows you to make eliminations / pick answers on general questions).
Otherwise, you get into plug and chug mode. There are lots of possible scenarios in this game, so almost anything can work. We have to just keep checking to see if we're honoring the rules.
This is me just spitballing the first legal scenario that comes to mind in each case.
(A) anything inherently bad about HR?
nah, we could do
H | HR | I
(B) anything inherently bad about IR??
nah, we could do
H | IR | I
(C) anything inherently bad about RRR?
nah, we could do
H | RRR | I
(D) anything inherently bad about ... wait, what is this saying?
4 things, but none of them I.
Can't do HHHR, because you can't have HHH.
Can't do HHRR, because you can't have more than one R if you have H.
So this looks impossible, hence
D is correct.
(E) Anything inherently bad about .... RR II?
nah, we could do
H | RR II | I
Hope this helps.
