Why is B the correct answer here?

I thought that this would mean that we have to use the 2 - 2 - 2 numerical distribution here?

Would you please be able to walk through the answers here - I had eliminated them all except D - not sure where my reasoning was off here!

Check that second rule! If there are exactly two sapphires, we're using 2-1-3 :D

Since we'll only have one ruby, that rules out A and C. C is also ruled out because M brings W and W kicks out H.
D is ruled out because J and M are the only sapphires. K, therefore, is out.
E is ruled out because M gives us W and W kicks out Z.
