With all Orientation questions, we take one rule at a time and check to see if any answers break that rule.

Rule 1: all five answers look fine.

Rule 2: this knocks out (A)

Rule 3: this knocks out (E)

Rule 4: this knocks out (D)

Rule 5: this knocks out (B)

Thus, (C) is the answer.

I don't understand what rule 5 means because B and C both seem similar to me where K is the first one on Thursdays. Could you pls explain that

There's no ordering on each day of the week.

It sounds like you're looking at (B) and (C)'s two people for Thursday and reading it as,
(B) first is Kevin, next is Nan
(C) first is Kevin, next is Paul

There's no ordering within a given day. The answers are saying this:
(B) Kevin and Nan are working
(C) Kevin and Paul are working

Rule 5 is saying, "If Kevin is working ... " (any day on which Kevin works)
"then the other staff member working is working their first shift of the week" (the first day during the week that some other staff member works)

So when you look at (B),
Kevin and Nan are working on Thurs. Is that Nan's first shift of the week?
Nope. Nan worked on Wednesday, so this is breaking the rule.

(C)
Kevin and Janice are working on Monday. Is that Janice's first shift of the week? Yes.
Kevin and Paul are working on Thursday. Is that Paul's first shift of the week? Yes.

So this is complying with the rule.
