Q18 - Some cleaning fluids,

by jardinsouslapluie5 Sun Jul 15, 2012 3:44 am

Could you articulate the difference between (D) and (E)?

I chose (D), but as I try to analyze the difference in (E), I get confused.

Unusual question type. It really is no different than a normal most strongly supported question stem you see on a more modern test.

The difference with D and E is that E is much more difficult to support versus D.

We are shown an example where formaldehyde was decreased in its amount in a similar setting. We are told that some household toxins are removed by houseplants. We know that formaldehyde is one of those removed. It could be the case that this is the only kind of household toxin that is removed. Perhaps benzene is not removed by these kinds of plants.

It also says released, which has noting to do with plants. Plants absorb toxins , but there is nothing said about plants blocking their release.
