Q15 - The authors of a recent article examined

What is the conclusion in the stimulus? "They are wrong, however."? I thought however was used for counter premises, not conclusions,

In Logical Reasoning AND in Reading Comp,

"but / yet / however", 90% of the time, show us a shift
FROM background/counterpoint TO the author's voice/argument.

When you're doing ID the Conclusion questions, you should actively remind yourself that the conclusion is often found attached to but/yet/however.

They almost NEVER would put the conclusion as the last thought.

MOST COMMON PLACE TO FIND CONCLUSION ON ID THE CONC Q'S:
in the middle, as part of some "but/yet/however" sentiment

2nd MOST COMMON PLACE TO FIND CONCLUSION ON ID THE CONC Q'S:
The first sentence.

That covers over 80% of ID the Conclusion questions. The remaining ones have conclusions INDIRECTLY pointed at by premise indicators like "after all, for", or the conclusion is indicated by an OPINION word like "probably".

For Q15, the Main Conc is "they are wrong".

CONC:
There IS evidence that exists to support the idea that the rate of extinction is accelerating.
