I got this question wrong, too; this is how I see it, though:
We have two templates - that is:
F has 2 people;
H has 4 people; and
K has 1 person.
or
F has 1 person;
H has 2 people;
K has 4 people.
The question asks: "which one of the following could be a COMPLETE AND ACCURATE list of the film buffs who DO NOT see the Hitchcock film?
Well, we know from both templates that either 2 or 4 people must view the H film.
This also means that any complete and accurate list of people who do not view the H film must include either 3 or 5 people.
Since none of the answer choices include 5 people, the correct A/C must include 3 people who do not view the H film. It is, after all, asking for a complete and accurate list.
Thus, our attention should be directed to template 1:
F has 2 people: I/M + G/R...
H has 4 people: Y, V, L, ? ...
K has 1 person: ? ...
Therefore, (A) and (B) should be quick eliminations, as they only include 2 people.
(D) can be quickly eliminated because VY must view the H film together under this template. It also includes Y but not V; this implies Y does not view the H film, but V does...
(E) is quickly eliminated because VY must view the H film together under this template.
