Think of the difference between the two answer choices. Answer choice (C) claims that most bees survive for a long period after the onset of the surviving generation. Answer choice (D) claims that some bees survive for a long time after the onset of the surviving generation.
One classic way that the LSAT creates incorrect answers on inference questions is to take information that we can establish to be true and then extend a little beyond the point that can be established. In that sense, weaker is better when choosing answer choices on inference questions. If you see two answers saying the same thing with one saying it in a weaker way, the weaker answer choice is the correct answer.
Fundamentally the issue with answer choice (C) is that we don't know that most bees reproduce. In fact, I think that's why the example of bees was selected. The stimulus is about insects who reproduce. Since we don't know that most bees reproduce we cannot establish that most bees survive for a long period after the onset of the surviving generation.
Does that answer your question?
