So let's pre-phrase. We know that the author believes two things about the possibility that courts will do something about gray marketing: (1) that it WILL happen and (2) that it is a GOOD THING
Usually with these questions, I have noticed that one word is pretty good while the other word sucks, making a lot of tempting wrong answers.
- (A) "tolerance"
(B) "dismay"
(E) "cynical"
All of these show me the opposite of what we want.
- (C) "reasoned optimism
(D) "unbridled fervor"
To me, these are both pretty good and very similar. Obviously, (D) is much stronger. However, I think "unbridled fervor" is just a tad too strong - but mostly acceptable. I chose (C) not only because it was a bit weaker but also because it seems to really embody the idea that the author believes it is "inevitable." Plus, the author does give valid reasoning for believing so ("Only the T Theory affords owners any real legal protection").
(C) it is for me.
Is it just me or are really strong and passionate answers like (D) typically wrong?
