Question Type: Orientation

Orientation questions ask us to choose a complete and accurate arrangement of the elements (schools, in this case). Orientation questions often lead off the set of questions. They can be solved by working through the rules one by one and eliminating any choice that violates the rule. Alternatively, since we have two beautiful frames set up, we could check whether the answer choices fit either of the frames. If we start with the rules, the solution will be as follows:

We’ll start with the first rule: F appears before H in the S row. Answer (C) violates this rule. Eliminate it.

The second rule: G cannot be fourth in the J row. Answer (B) violates this rule. Eliminate it.

The third rule: G appears third in the S row. Answer (D) violates this rule. Eliminate it.

The final rule: Last letter in the S row will appear first in the J row. Answer (E) violates this rule. Eliminate it.

We have our answer: (A).

If we had started with the answer choices and compared them to our frames, we could have seen that (A) fits the left-hand-side frame, therefore it must be the right answer!
