Q11

This is another line reference question about the "standing out from oneself" that is mentioned in line 39 and what it serves to do.

Prephrase: I read a few lines before and after line 39, and I see the phrase "standing out from oneself" is used the clarify the meaning of the word ecstasy. That is what it is serving to do, and I go to the answer choices with that in mind

(A) This is unsupported. There is no mention or anything that alludes to a nonstandard, standard, or incorrect use of a word. Get rid of it.
(B) This is what I want, and is really close to what I had in my prephrase. The author uses the phrase to specify what he means by the word "ecstasy" as used in this passage.
(C) When the phrase is mentioned here it is not mentioned in relation to blues performance, but rather to describe the psychological conditions that are invoked by religious worshippers in West African and African American cultures.
(D) When the phrase is used here it is not used in reference to "blues performance" but the psychological conditions invoked by religious worshippers in West African and African American cultures. It also does not contrast this worship experience with blues performance. Unsupported. Get rid of it.
(E) Not at all. Once again it's not used in connection with blues performance.
