This question requires that we simply identify supporting text in the passage. Since we just looked at the paragraph that deals with this topic in the previous question, we’re in luck. In lines 52-53 the author states Gluck’s belief that "these differences will be revealed with more authority in the absence of conscious intention." This is almost exactly the wording of choice (C).
(A) is an unsupported interpretation, and is not mentioned in this paragraph.
(B) is an unsupported interpretation. Gluck’s critics, not Gluck, mention the "tools of tradition".
(D) is a contradictory interpretation. Gluck does not explicitly comment on gender issues.
(E) is out of scope. Embracing tradition is mentioned earlier in the passage, but not in the context of authority.
