Processing Info faster - LG Timing

by laurossman Sat Oct 18, 2014 3:24 pm

I have many months before I take the test, so I'm not overly worried, but I am frustrated. I took a practice test before any studying, and got 14/23 on the LG section. This wasn't a big surprise - it was my weakest section. I then spent a few weeks studying with the PowerScore LG bible. I love this book. All the info, the drills, the tips - they are all great. I felt like I was learning SO much. I read the intro, the basic and advanced linear chapters, and the grouping chapter. I was taking notes and doing the drills. I was reviewing everything. Then today I sat down to re-take the same section. DING DING - I only got 15/23. I was so frustrated because I knew this was not reflective of my ability, so I immediately took out a clean copy and took it again. I got 23/23. My brain is still taking a long time processing the rules and inferences, but I believe I am perfectly capable of doing really well. Does anyone have tips on improving this processing time?

Hey Lau,

This is an enormous question, so I can't really attempt to answer it (though I dearly hope other folks chime in). The one thing I would say is that the average LSAT students studies for a few months, so I wouldn't expect to see an enormous amount of improvement after only a few weeks. Rewiring the brain takes time! Otherwise, just keep practicing and applying method. You will speed up!
