From the setup, we can think about who each character can pass to:

J can pass to K/L
K can pass to L/M
L can pass to K/M
M can pass to anyone, but since no one else can pass to J, M has to always pass to J.

As we consider each answer choice, we need to think about Who's Left and decide whether they're eligible passing to each other.

(A)
J -> K
K -> M
Those are legal. Who's left?
L ->
M ->

we know that M passes to J always, so that forces L to pass to L. Eliminate.

(B)
J -> L
L -> M
Those are legal. Who's left?
K ->
M ->

M passes to J, so that leaves K to pass to K. Eliminate.

(C)
J -> M is illegal, so get this outta here.

(D)
K -> L
L -> K
That leaves
J ->
M ->

M has to pass to J, so J has to pass to M, which is illegal. Eliminate

(E)
K -> L
L -> M
this leaves
J ->
M ->

M has to pass to J, and that leaves J passing to K, which is fine. This is the correct answer.

Patrick,

The explanation on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n--2YUE ... hattanPrep
is totally different from yours on how the answer choices shall be interpreted. I agree with your interpretation which is the only way E would be correct. I initially interpreted as the instructor in this video but found that would make A B D E all correct.
Just want to bring it to your attention.

Hi! There are often multiples ways to set up and play a game, particularly for trickier games like this one. Both Patrick's way and Christine's way (in the video) are totally valid, though I don't think Christine's way would make multiple answers correct.

That said, whenever there's more than one way of doing a game, pick the way that works best for you and go with it.
