Q10

by AgopianR377 Thu May 25, 2017 3:59 am

I don't really understand how the answer is human emotion to this question. I can't really point my finger on passage A discussing human emotion

Any explanation would be much appreciated (:

These don't have to be important moments in each passage. The question stem simply says that both passages "mention" the relation of music to _____ .

(A) psg A doesn't talk about "bonding"

(B) psg A relates music to emotion in lines 1-3. psg B does so in a more diffuse way, but lines 32-37 are decent support. Since psg B's main point is really that we have music as an evolutionary result of strengthening emotional bonds between mother and infant, we can support that psg B relates the two.

(C) psg B doesn't talk about "neurological research"

(D) psg A doesn't talk about "helpless infants"

(E) psg B doesn't talk about "tools for sound"

Does anyone know what kind of research that the passage B introduces would be called as (or any proximate name)?

Not sure what you'd call that type of research.

It might be cultural, behavioral, anthropological, evolutionary biological, videographic?

The medium of research is audio/visual films of moms and infants.

When you say neurological research, you connote the idea that you're taking brain scans or otherwise have brains hooked up to electrodes in order to measure brain activity.

It looks here like they just filmed some people, observed them, and noted certain things.
