Didn't even bother with this one when I got to it during my timed PT. Took one look at it and was like "Nope... Next!"
Rule 1: If 2 processes are
not substantially different in cost, then choose process with less damaging impact on environment
Rule 2: If already environmentally damaging process, then only consider replacing with a more expensive process if
1. It is a legal requirement or
2. Long-term savings are substantially greater than cost
Correct = (C) Process A is
not substantially more expensive than B. And Process A is less damaging on environ. than B, therefore, per Rule 1, Choose A.
(A) "slight long-term savings" and "substantial cost" -- Does not satisfy Rule 2
(B) "change process to preserve public image" -- We do not care about public image. (Um, we do in general, but not for this question

)
(D) "Process A and B are similar.. A pollute slightly more.. A is cheaper -> Choose A" -- According to Rule 1, we should choose B not A. Note that Rule 2 is not satisfied "savings > cost" not "lower cost"
(E) "cost covered by long-term savings" -- Rule 2 is not met, we need savings to be substantially greater than cost.
