Q13

Can someone please walk me through this? For some reason I don't understand why you can't automatically omit any sequence with Oliphant as second? From what I understood, since site 2 was found in the 9th century, doesn't that mean that Oliphant didn't discover it since Oliphant can only discover sites in the 8th century. Thanks!

This is incorrect. You've mis-interpreted the conditional constraint regarding Oliphant.

It's not that Oliphant must ONLY go in the 8th century. It's that if a site comes from the 8th century, then Oliphant discovered it.

In other words, you are saying this:
O --> 8.

But the constraint actually says this:
8 --> O

What's the problem with (D)...?
I chose (E) but using the diagram provided earlier, it seems (D) is fine too, isn't it??

Thanks.

Thanks.

It has G going twice. We know it must go exactly once.

Oh...OK I see.
I thought there is only one G-10 combination and could be other Gs or 10s.
Thanks!
