one month left

by eunjung.shin Wed Jan 04, 2012 6:09 am

I have been studying for the LSAT for about 9 months. I took the Oct 2011 exam and plan to retake the Feb test.

1. Feb tests not being released, I am concerned that the test will be a surprise. Do you have any comments about Feb tests? How different will they be?

2. I joined the Manhattan LSAT about 2 weeks ago and am watching the class videos without doing the homework. (thinking I already did them during my practice tests, so wanted to save them for later practices) Do you think I should go back and do the Short at least?

3. Since the re-studying, I haven't done any of the practice tests. Now I got one month left, how many tests should I do? (one a day?)

Thanks!

If you look at the February tests that have been released, Feb 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 99, and 00, you won't find any differences between them and LSATs from June, Oct, and Dec in the same years. The February test will not be any different than LSATs recently administered - so no worries there!

I would actually complete at least the "short" and the "tall" homework assignments right after you complete each lesson. Don't worry about trying to find the correct answer so much, but rather focus on the way the argument is constructed and the concepts addressed in the lessons and how they apply to that practice set.

One per day is a bad idea. I did that during my own personal LSAT preparation for nearly 4 weeks and guess what. I got the same darn score for nearly 4 weeks straight. Use them to measure improvement and work on pacing, but not to learn the test. I'd take one practice test this week, and then 2 practice tests per week for the following three weeks leading up the February LSAT.

Good luck!
