Number distributions, closed conditional grouping game

by sanchez.zoilac Sat Aug 13, 2016 3:15 pm

Hello, I just worked through Practice game 2, chapter 10: conditional grouping of the LG book and having trouble understanding the numerical distribution of the 3 subgroups.

From a glance, I thought subgroup 70s: 3 and subgroup 60: 0 and 80:2.

The elements in the 70s subgroup aren't attached to anything and if subgroup 80 only had o and p, then that group could have 0.

Please advise. I appreciate guidance on approaching number distributions in closed conditional grouping games.

Thanks!!!

Hi sanchez.zoilac, you're absolutely right!

They are depicted in the book in the following way:

Image

That includes your distribution as well.

60's: 1
70's: 2
80's: 2

60's: 2
70's: 1
80's: 2

60's: 3
70's: 0
80's: 2

60's: 0
70's: 3
80's: 2

Let us know if that doesn't clear up your question!
