Mastering the "if substituted for the condition that..."

by shehadehr Mon Nov 12, 2012 3:52 pm

Hi,

I keep hitting these at the end of certain games, usually the last question, and usually after im super pumped from blazing through the game correctly. When I run into these they destroy me in terms of my timing. I don't know how to attack them correctly.

How are others tackling these question types? I have a hard time seeing which new rule, from the ones they offer, would "have the same effect" right away. I've read through explanations in the past, and while they're great, I'm just wondering if there are any key inferences and/or tricks, generally, that one makes immediately when facing this questions.

Have you looked at the whitepaper we published on this? http://www.manhattanlsat.com/equivalent-rule.cfm

Also, there's a long discussion on these questions in the 3rd edition of our LG guide.
