Making Inferences on RC Questions!

by samuelfbaron Wed Apr 10, 2013 5:25 pm

Is it just me or is it extremely difficult to handle inference questions!?

I have read the Manhattan RC book but I'm still having a heck of a time. I think I'm having trouble coping with all of the information.

In LR it's easier to make an inference because we are limited to far less information.

Help ? :o

Indeed, these can be some nasty questions!

Let's start chipping away at this by distinguishing between when we're asked to make a local inference (one based off a small piece of text) and when we're asked to make a general inference. Often it's those local ones that are more annoying.

At the same time, be sure in your review that you're identifying the text--particularly for those local inferences. This will sharpen your skills, and accustom you to the sorts of inferences you're asked to make in RC.

Spend a few weeks at that, and then let's chat again.
