Logic Challenge #33 - A Fishy Game (Easy)

by noah Wed Aug 24, 2011 10:54 am

BTW, we didn't think this was such an easy game! 3-D ordering games rarely are.

How did you solve it?

I solved it! Yay!

I hope my explanation is clear.

I just completed this game.

I had a different set up.

Image

I created two frames from the initial global diagram. We have two choices for our Tuesday selection, with one being W and one being F.

I thought this would be a very limiting factor. You could have also framed this from the standpoint of W being on Monday or F being on Monday.

I felt that the selection of fish would be more limiting since it would incorporate the ~WW rule with one of the selections.

I also would like to note that R and S are interchangeable. Thus, on the question asking about which one of the following, if true, would completely determine which fish are selected on which day, we MUST resolve the RS interchangeability issue. Therefore, a rule MUST address this. Only two of the rules did of the five, which really narrowed the time with that particular question.

Does O (orange roughy) change types, or is that my faulty designating? In some of my sketches, I found that O was wild and in others I found that it was farm raised; depending on where it was placed. Is that right?

I am wondering if we could take it as given that H is farmed and J is wild, even when they are not featured on Tuesday?

Answer E) for the first question is horribly glitched on the page for me, to the extent that I couldn't actually tell what it was.

I'm sorry to hear that! What kind of device were you viewing the puzzle on? I'm looking on my laptop and it appears normal on my end.

Here's the text of answer choice E, in case you want to see it!

(E) sardines, John Dory, pomfret, orange roughy, halibut, rockfish
