Last Two weeks

by a3friedm Tue Jan 29, 2013 2:13 pm

I can't believe it's less than two weeks untill test day at this point. It would have been nice if it didn't line up perfectly with midterms, but any advice as to best approach the final stretch?

Thank you!

Hey a3,

As you can imagine, there's no simple answer to the whole: "What the heck do I do now? AHHHHHHHH!"

The amount and the type of work you should be doing is dependent on where you are. However, I'll imagine that you've done everything right up to this point (i.e. you've studied enough that you are two weeks away from a good score), and the question is simply how to close it out.

Basically, most to all of your work at this point should be in the form of full sections and full tests. I'll assume you know how to deal with every type of Logic Game and every type of Logical Reasoning question type. But can your brain switch from one style to another fast enough? Also, how is your pacing? Are you getting through the whole test, or do you find yourself out of time on the fourth game or the 22nd LR question? If you have problems like this, make sure you focus on your pacing during the next couple of practice tests.

As for how many practice tests to take, there's no right or wrong answer. I don't recommend more than one a day EVER. For some people, it's possible to both do and review a test one day, then do and review a test the next day. I think taking a test one day, then reviewing the next, is a solid process. On the review day, you can also redo some/all of the games, because that remains useful (redoing LR and RC problems when you know the answer is less useful).

Of course, if you have any obvious weaknesses, you can continue to work on those, but by the two week point, you should be focusing on the more general stuff.

Hope that helps!
