General Problematic Areas

by shipra_mehta Mon Nov 07, 2011 7:48 pm

I'm having difficulties with some of the LR questions. I had been scoring pretty high, fluctuating between the upper 160s and the lower 170s but then last week I first fell to a 162 and then a 155. I have gone through all the questions that I am getting wrong, figuring out the logic behind it and even under what category they fall under. I have looked at the distribution and there is no specific type of question that I am consistently getting wrong.

I don't know what to do, I have been following the process described in http://www.manhattanlsat.com/blog/index ... lanations/

I don't know what else to do.

Also, how you recommend in the LSAT Answers & Explanations to create a log of questions to redo for LR, should I do the same for LG?

I really appreciate this,
Thanks in advance!

If your score is dropping over ten points as the test approaches and you can't identify a reason (different conditions where you're taking your practice tests, being distracted or not feeling well, etc.), it sounds like anxiety may be a culprit.

Continue working on LR as you are--redoing the hard questions, focusing heavily on review, and so on. (And yes, you can do this for LG, too.) But I'd also pay attention to the role that anxiety may be playing during your practice. If you think this may be it, do some anxiety management. Read this post on burnout: http://www.manhattanlsat.com/blog/index ... t-burnout/

And you know what eases your stress for you. Do yoga? Run? Meditate? Read a short story to get your mind off of conditional logic? Don't underestimate the importance of a calm and well-rested mind.

Good luck!
