Flaw language

Just want to confirm that the following phrase is describing an incorrect negation/reversal...

"taking the nonexistence of something as evidence that a necessary precondition for that thing also did not exist."

Yes, this seems to be a "mistaken sufficient for necessary" flaw as you've suggested.

E.g.
X --> Y
-X --> -Y (incorrect negation)
Y --> X (incorrect reversal)

That's right! The statement is saying

-X --> -Y based on X --> Y.

So that's an improper negation.
